Why Did the Mayan 2012 Doomsayers come to Sirince, Turkey

60,000 believers in the Mayan calendar’s doomsday Dec. 21, 2012 prediction poured into Şirince, a small village of 600 in İzmir,Turkey. Some New Age spiritualists were convinced that the Anatolian town was the only safe haven from the impending apocalypse foretold by certain interpretations of Mayan hieroglyphs.

St. John's, the more important of Şirince's two churches, dating back to 1805.

In addition to the positive energy that the doomsday believers attribute to Şirince, the village is located close to the area where Christians believe the Virgin Mary ascended to heaven, AFP reported.

We froze our enthusiasm off hanging out at the OZ Pension at Christmas time 2014 and headed down the hill to the Wyndham Hotel on the beach in Izmir. However. after visiting Gobekli Tepe in 2018 and reading both "The Fingerprints of the Gods and Magicians of the Gods by Graham Hancock, I want to know when will the big event get here?

Graham says the Mayans and the Gobekli Tepe folks were trying to pick the date that the earth will have done a complete 25,000 year cycle through all 12 zodiac constellations, somewhere between 1960 and 2040. Neil Howe, co-author of The Fourth Turning has re-calibrated his timeline from the 2008 financial crisis to eventual resolution by 2028. Numerology has Nines as a completion, giving credence to 9/11,  George 'W' Obama, and  Hillary, so much so, that I'm thinking 2019 looks promising for the Big Bang.

What will it be?
